On Thursday, we wrapped up our Identity series with a discussion about our significance in Christ.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (Ephesians 2:10 NLT)

Observations we made:

  • We are God’s works of art.
  • We are precious and valuable to Him.
  • God uses personal experiences, Bible study, natural talents, and other ways to help us follow Him.
  • God is incredibly creative in how He equips us to do his work.
  • We need to see other people the way God does, because they are important to Him too.

Guess who said it on Thursday:
1. “I’m a lump of Clay.”
2. “That’s a thing, you’re a thing, we’re all things.”

This week we read John 8:1-12 and talked about what it means to be secure in Christ. Below are some sketchnotes and questions to ponder.

Romans 5:1-2;
1 Corinthians 6:19-20;
1 Corinthians 12:27;
Ephesians 2:19;
Colossians 1:14;
Colossians 2:9,10

This week at CCF, we had 13 students talking about why and how God accepts us.

  • We have been made right with God because of what Christ did for us.
  • We were God’s enemies (Romans 5:10) but He offered us peace with Him.
  • God paid a high price (Christ’s death) to rescue us.
  • We are extremely precious to God.
  • We are God’s and not our own.
  • Each of us needs other Christians and is needed by them.
  • God’s plan is for believers to work together the way parts of a healthy body work together to move, eat, breathe, etc.
  • A saint is someone who loves and obeys God, one of His people.
  • Christ wants to fulfill all our needs and all the “holes” we perceive in our lives.
  • In Christ, we find our real selves and are made complete.

Questions for further thought:

  • Do I place the same value on myself that God does?

  • Do I treat others with the value God has for them?

  • How can I be more involved with a local community of Christians?

  • Do I live like going to church is an essential part of my life?

Random discovery: Most of the people at CCF would rather be the smartest person they know instead of the most popular.
